Michelle Matthews Calloway is a Louisiana Press Association award-winning writer, speaker, blogger and podcaster. She holds a B.S. degree in marketing, an MBA and a Ph.D. in higher education administration. She is the former Elections Manager for the City of Dallas, TX and was the first Black person to be appointed to that position.

Michelle currently works as an executive legal intake coordinator for the Public Defender’s Office in Louisiana’s 15th Judicial District and has previously taught continuing education courses for the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. She also blogs and podcasts about diversity, interracial relationships and culture over at TheSwirlWorld.com.

Dr. Calloway is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of University Women.
